Brad Wells Family
"The Brad Wells Family has been working in Papua New Guinea as a family since May of 1998. They began working with Brad's parents, Dennis & Dee Wells, in the remote areas. They established their first church there and turned it over to a national pastor.
God then led them to move to the country's third largest city to start an independent Baptist church and to launch the country's first Christian radio station, Bible FM. Currently, they are still working with the Bible Truth Baptist Church, working to train the national people to perpetuate the nation-wide ministry of radio.
The family is a team who works together to fulfill the Great Commission. Deborah helps with the music, has taught Sunday School, and disciples the ladies. The children have taken part in a pre-recorded daily program called "Bipo Yu Go Slip" (Before You Sleep) which has covered every story in the Bible. Eventually, the oldest child, Marshall, anchored his own live radio program, interpreting "Adventures in Odyssey" into the local Pidgin language for the "After School Special". Each of the children are learning how to reach others with the Good News of the Gospel.
Brad's Testimony
After stealing my pastor's pocketknife at age six, I was brought under deep conviction and repented, receiving Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. My interest in missions began at a young age as my mother read missionary stories in our family devotions. By high school, however, I had decided to pursue a career in business marketing. When my parents, Dennis and Dee Wells, surrendered to go to Papua New Guinea as missionaries in my junior year of high school, my interest for missions was rekindled. Upon graduating, my Dad asked me to put off my career for a year and help him get settled on the field. During that year God changed my heart and my goals. I returned to the USA and completed my home church's threeyear Bible institute program. In my last year, the Lord confirmed my call using Philippians 2:19-23. In 1995, I met and married my wife, Deborah. We completed deputation and began our ministry together in 1998.
Deborah's Testimony
I was born into a preacher's family, the fourth of ten children. When I was five, the Lord called my parents, John and Lee Marshall, into fulltime evangelism. That same year I was born again in the state of Florida. I volunteered for foreign missions at the age of nine. I continued to travel and minister with my family until God brought Brad into my life in 1995. We met at a nursing home he the preacher; I the piano player! I am overwhelmed with gratitude to the Lord for His fulfillment of His will in my life. It is such an honor to be called to serve in Papua New Guinea.
